Name this migrant answer

Were you able to determine what this bird is? If not, here it is on the same branch a few seconds later, head turned - do you have it now?





If not, this should help you out.
 



That is a Palm Warbler, and a drab one at that. The bird was feeding along the edge of the grasslands at Stratford Point all by itself. You typically see Palm Warblers pumping their tails which gives them away even from afar. In my opinion, seeing some birds with conspicuous behaviors frozen in time in a photograph can sometimes make them more difficult to identify as it can confuse your mind (or mine at least!). Fall warblers are always tough, too.
